Artist Statement

The style I tend to use in my art comes from a style I created in highschool, but hadn't realized what I'd done yet.
I've simply called it a Line Style, and the whole idea is that the shapes are defined by the gap between them, instead of just with color or proper line art. Instead, the lines make the shapes. It's something that's much easier to show than describe, but overall people seem to enjoy it, and appreciate the effort I put forth when I inform them each line is done individually without any edges to help keep them straight.
Over time, I've slowly created rules and even sometimes allowed selective color to be added. I've also extended the style to accommodate digital works -- where instead of the lines, it is color making the individual shapes.
Using this style, I decided to create images relating to video games that left a lasting impact on me in one form or another.
